I am 18 weeks pregnant. I have been having vaginal dryness and am wondering if it is because I shave every few days or once a week. I also don't wear underwear. I wonder if I should stop shaving and start wearing underwear. Thanks for any help.

Yeah I think it would be more due to not wearing underwear....since there is such an increased blood flow through the body causing swelling everywhere including vaginally, I would think this could lead to more chafing and dryness especially without underwear. I am 23 weeks pregnant with my second child and I shave every other day or so but make sure to wear underwear and I haven't had much of a problem.

You should stop shaving because you are going to need more moisture and you should wear cotton under wear to be safe from infections and the dryness can be because of hormone change while pregnant i had it and could not have sex because of it so best of luck to you it wont last for long

Dryness is VERY normal.

Use some KY jelly before you go to bed (wear underwear when you sleep so it isn't messy). It's water-based, and my OBGYN recommended it for me because it's safe during pregnancy.

What sort of discharge? Dryness is often due to insufficient arousal. any change in the duration, quality, and type of foreplay? A use of a water-based lubricant might be of use and aid the natural secretions?
