agree with the earlier comment he just dials your number as normal. you will pay a fortune for international calls, and it will be you paying that bill not him, so if I were you I wouldnt use it for voice calls, text mebbe, but be very carefull. I appreaciate that young love MUST MUST MUSt make that call, but in reality you dont have to...
consider talking to yiour operator to see if the do a special rate for interantional calls
you may need to activate your phone before you go abroad... again talk to your customer services people at O2
BTW if you want to dial a UK number whilst abroad then you dial +44 AND drop the leading zero of the number
so if you want to dial 01234 567890 then you dial
+44 1234 567890
incidentally you could store all your numbers in tha interantional format, the telephone exchanges are clever wnough to discard the interantional code if its a local call.

You are correct. All your boyfriend needs to dial is 00 - 1 - area code - number. I just gotback from Mexico and that is how I called from my mobile phone to US numbers.

Pity your not registered with ONETEL.
3 pence per minute calls to USA.
I use it every day from my land line and mobile phones
To call USA 001
To call UK from USA..011 44...leave the 1st zero off the area code.
So.... area code 01446 is 1446.
An example would be...011 44 1446. Then number you require.

Just Dial the number as normal, and as long as you have roaming enabled it will be fine.
When you dial O2 will forward it to the US Service Provider and they will pass it on to you.
Your Boyfriend will pay the charge for a normal UK - UK mobile call, the international portion of the call will be charged to you. ( So beware can be expensive )

NOPE!!
If you are going to be the one abroad and he is calling your UK mobile then he just calls as normal. No codes needed. But if you want to call him with your UK phone in the US then you need codes. Simple! Happy holiday
