If the baby doesn't want the formula, spits up alot, is very gassy, doesn't have normal bowel movements... just stuff that doesn't seem right. Your mom instincts should kick in and you'll know something's not right.

Oh, you'll know. If you're unsure, try switching to a lactose-free formula for a week or so. If there's a big difference in your infant's behavior, you'll have your answer!
Walmart has a brand called Parent's Choice. Their lactose-free formula was the only formula my children could tolerate.

In my daycare, one baby was on the generic Wal*Mart brand formula and honestly it was gross the amount she spit up. ALL THE TIME. It was easy to notice it wasn't agreeing with her. I recommended they change just to see and they did and she rarely ever spit up again.

vomiting alot, gas, runny stools. Tehre is alot of ways to tell. Your best bet is to ask your pediatrician and they will give you a better reccomendation of what to do.

if your baby getting very fuzzy or has any reaction, such as they simply turn the bottle away or colic, that's the signs.
