Glaciers always melt slowly because they are moving into warmer waters, they have always done that. You probably read or heard about polar bears disappearing because of melting ice, in fact there is more ice and the bears are thriving. You also probably heard that Greenland is getting warmer, it isn't, the North Pole is melting, it isn't. That man's SUV's are causing Global Warming, they aren't. That most scientists believe in Global Warming, they do not. I could go on and on, we are going through a natural cycle, the temperature has only gone up one degree in the past 20 years.

You are partially right. The evidence for anthropogenetically caused climate change is overwhelming and, contrary to the politically motivated nonsense, almost unanimously accepted by all global climate change scientists. Certainly, coastal areas will be lost, however not all that much land, relatively speaking, will be flooded.

Possibly one of the most overlooked effects of global warming (and something directly related to melting of polar ice) involves a potential change the thermohaline circulation of the oceans. ‘Rivers’ of cold and warm water circulate through the world's oceans in a cycle that takes many years to complete.

Cold water in the north Atlantic forces the “river” to sink. It then travels as long winding route that takes it through the tropics, where it warms up. Eventually, it travels back the north Atlantic (commonly called the Gulf Stream) where it moderates the climate of NW Europe before meeting cold polar water and beginning the cycle again.

The danger of dumping more polar water into the system is not just a matter of adding more cold water – it is adding more fresh water, which can affect the salinity of the water that, in turn, effects its density, causing it to stay on the surface rather than sink. This robs the thermohaline cycle of the energy that runs it.

Since the momentum of this cycle is so great, if we wait until it is too late, it will be certainly be out of our control before we are even aware of it.

If you are legitimately interested, beware of these guys. There is no polite way to convey how dishonest they are. Exxon, and others, are funding scientific assassins to lie about the current state of our knowledge and to attack (sometimes through congressional intimidation) scientists they do not like.

Having had these hellhounds nip at my own heels, maybe I am little biased against them. But then, I did not like them before, anyway - because they know they are lying and they do not care.

Take a breath, please.

The record high temperature in North Dakota was in the town of Steele, at a steamy 121 degrees fahrenheit.

It happened July 6, 1936.

This state is a land of extremes. I remember 100+ degree heat in the 1970's. We also drop well below zero in the winter.

Earth science is your friend, friend.

No, I just do not believe that global warming exists. I think it is the natural cycle of the earth, just like the ice age, bronze age, and iron age. And how is bush to blame? Do you drive a car, or cook on your BBQ, or take public transportation, or have a firplace? If so, then you contribute to pollution.

Nope not scared at all...it's odd how some things become fads and then become "fact". Link below is the the US Senate site that has a few facts that you won't see in the main stream media. I'm not saying who is right or wrong but the sky is not falling and all is not as it seems.

i think of the reason many conservatives reject the assumption of international climate replace is with the help of their rejection of maximum all scientific theories. maximum conservatives additionally are religious and that they don't in simple terms like the assumption of technology in any ability. They continuously have self assurance in God for his or her solutions and probable have self assurance that God will restoration climate replace (if there is this form of component) OR that God is at the back of climate replace and that he will come and take his believers to stay with him in heaven on an identical time as all the non-believers expend in the international. to reply to the 2nd area of your question with regard to the terrorism.. its tremendously plenty the comparable deal. they actually are nervous of terrorism because of the fact (they suspect) those muslims are evil non-christians who hate usa and God. The politicians (properly modern administration) could use scare approaches to maintain us quiet. If we actually knew why they have been their, there could be a super backlash and no it is easy to assist the conflict. properly... wager what?? i think of we caught on!!
