Hitler was in overall command of this armies, but it was his Field Marshals and generals who did most of the "generaling." In fact, Hitler's decisions have largely been blamed for the German loss of WWII- decisions like starting the war seven years too early, invading Russia, adopting the wrong strategy in Russia. Besides, Hitler's empire only lasted six years.
The decision between Genghis Khan and Alexander the Great is a little harder. They both conquered huge empires and were very successful commanders. But a large part of the Mongols' success was due to their style of warfare: highly mobile, deadly archers. Most of their enemies hadn't faced anything like it and were overwhelmed.
Alexander, on the other hand, used a multi-ethnic army and many different tactics (sieges, assaults) to conquer his empire, and he had nothing but his own skill to rely on.

Alexander merely had the advantage of lucid objective thought processes in an era of subjective mush-heads. Hitler wasn't a military genius. But, Genghis-Khan was way ahead of his time, for a savage.

Ya hitler was a great orator and politician but he meddled to much in his Generals affaurs with his no retreat strategies. Alexander and Genghis Khan are far better.
