I have been casual dating and talking to this guy for a little over seven months, we have fun, we go out to clubs, drink, have public outings, etc. with one another but due to the fact that I have a health condition..he has a problem with it to where he doesn't want to be my boyfriend. It is a condition that can't be helped but he still likes me as a friend and we have fallen from the bf level to best friend level.....what schould I do, he is the first guy i have ever loved, but if it comes down to it, i don't mind being his friend..what schould i do? Should i continue on being his friend and face reality that their will be nothing more than a friend? or should i push him away because it hurts me inside...but i'm a guy..i will eventually get over it right? How should i handle the situation?

just be a friend to him. it's hard at first, especially when you see him with other guys, however, just take your time with it. i'm sure it almost feels like you should have him all or nothing at all. but let yourself be a friend, it will take time but eventually you will be OK just being friends with him. sad as it is he probably has made up his mind that being a friend is all he can offer to you. accept it.

your health condition is so evasive that it makes it difficult for me to give an accurate answer. if your talkin aids that the guy has a good reason to push you away. but im confused by your question. so i will say this. if you also like him as a friend than keep him as a friend. a good friend is hard to find. so move on and find yourself a new guy. best of luck.

if you are willing to only be friends go for it. it would help to know the medical problem to know how big of a jerk he is. (if it's something that could potentially hurt him obviously he has to think of himself at least some what) but definitely if he says there's no way you will be more than friends then you have to face that reality. and if you can keep the friendship that would be great.

If the health condition is a STD, I think you should let him go, move on, and just be friends. There are more ways to love somebody besides having just sex.

Ann Landers/Dear Abby used to ask are you better off with him or better off without him. Decide from there.

However, he sounds shallow. What makes you ever think he would be a friend to you?

I've never known ex lovers to make good friends.

It is much easier to heal if you move on to someone who can be all that you want.

You'll regret disapearing and never knowing what happens to him.

Be a freind.
