Look at nature, ok... the blacks and browns in the autumn time are good examples.. as well as the animal prints we see,... like leopard prints... for example! Some shades of blacks and browns go really well together... it's not the most common blend of colors, but in the right setting and shade, it really works well!
If you are decorating something, make sure you have a good design and another color to contrast, ...an off white, like ivory!

yes, as long as it's a lighter shade of brown. if the brown is too dark, it will just look like the colors are slightly off, and that never looks good.

They are both neutrals, so mix at will. Although, I would never be caught dead wearing brown shoes with black pants or vice versa.

make sure the black is real dark, and the brown is real light. Another one is real good : Brown and Blonde.

no i've never seen it look good together. they're too similar. It's like putting a navy blue and black together-bad idea.

yes, they are both neutral. however, this would look a bit drab. I don't recommend brown for anything. Black yes - add some colour. (if you are talking about clothing)

honestly...no. but it really depends on how you put it together. in general, i do not see black and brown as a good color combination.

Generally speaking.....I think it is difficult to pull together.

I cannot think of a time when you would actually need to wear them together.
