Let 'f' be the number of friends (unknown)

Let 'C' be the total number of comic books (130)

Let 's' be the number given to his sister (10)

Let 'Q' be the number of comic books each friend has (24)

Then the eq'n is:

(C - s)/Q = f

==> f = (130 - 10)/24 = 120/24 = 5
