I was wondering this about some of the people on here.
I do. Sometimes I like to respond to others' answers. And if a lot of people have said the same thing, I won't bother. Conversely, if I think the answers haven't mentioned what I'm thinking, I'll answer no matter the number of responses.

If it's an opinion answer no; if it's an answer of fact or rule, then I check the others. If someone else has already said what I'm going to say, I don't bother to answer, why make someone read the same thing over and over again?

Sometimes if I don't understand the question I will read the first 1 or 2 then that's it.

Yes because some people questions actually make a lot of sense and some are dumb which will effect the way you answer them why do you read them first?

Sometimes I'll read the first couple of answers to see if humor is appropriate, or if something more serious is needed.
