1) I'm there even when I don't want to be.
2) I don't sugar-coat things that can improve my friend's situation, or make him/her see things more clearly. Meaning, I'm not going to lie to make them feel better.
3) I will answer the phone at 3 AM and help that friend out if need be.
4) I will take them out and make them forget, even for a few hours about that ***** ex or that bastard ex that broke up with them.
I think that makes me a decent friend

To me a cool friend would be someone who:
Is there to support you in good times and bad.
Listens to you when you speak.
Makes you laugh.
Knows how to cheer you up.
Helps you make decisions.
Accepts your beliefs.
Gives you a hug.
Encourages and supports your acheivments.
Forgives your mistakes.
Teases you just a little.
Is honest.
I know many more things can make a friend cool, but I could go on and on lol. (=

If you have a great personality, if your nice, friendly, fun to hangout with, that makes someone a cool friend.
