The Cuban Missile Crisis was nearing a close it started Oct 16 when our Government found from reconnaissance flights that Russian Missiles were aimed at the US from Cuba. It was a tense period during the Cold War; having grown up having air raid in our schools and ducking under our desks when the alarm sounded. Even as a child I knew that wouldn't do much. President Kennedy with aid from his brother Robert stared the enemy in the face....the Premier of Russia was Nikita Kruschev and of course Castro was in power. They imposed a Navel Embargo around thee island...By the 27th of October Kennedy succeeded. The Russians were to dismantle the missiles; and in part of the deal we were to dismantle our missiles that were close to their borders. We never did. Only occasionally is it right for a President to lie. That was it.
However October 23 1964 was much better I lost my virginity.
Good Luck

Well, I turned 6 on that date. Does that count?
It was also the day after Pres. Kennedy had announced that the Soviet Union had missiles in Cuba.
