Because then the number would be able to go into the divisor more times. The remainder is left over when the divisor cannot go into the dividend any more. If the divisor is 4 and the remainder is 5 then the divisor can go into the dividend one more time with a remainder of 1.

because if the remainder is 5 and the divisor is 4 you can still get one 4 into 5 which would then leave a new remainder of 1 that you can no longer get anymore 4's into.
445/4= 4 goes into 4 once
then next 4 goes into 4 once
then 4 goes into 5 once
than 4 goes into 1 you cna't so that is the end.
the answer is 111 r1
you would keep going until 4 can't go into the remainder anymore

because if the remainder is still larger than the divisor u can still continue to divide the original number. a remainder is the number left from the original number that a whole divisor cannot be used to factorize it anymore. am i making sense to u?

Because if the remainder is > the divisor , then the answer is wrong, because the answer should be higher, the divisor would have gone in more times .

What an interesting question.
You can think of division as partitioning (parsing) into subgroups. The divisor is the number of required elements per subgroup.
It is always a reductive process. Initially the subgroup size is ones.. and when you divide you are increasing the subgroup size without increasing the number of elements.

Because in the last division, you will always find the largest factor that goes into the number without exceeding that number. If the remainder is larger, then you didn't find the largest factor that goes into the last number without exceeding it.

first you recognize what's reminder while we divide a selection via a selection then the selection left or stay is spoke of as reminder. so if we r dividing via 5 skill reminder would be one million,2,3,4 so best reminder would be trouble-free 4 and lowest reminder would be one million
