We as humans grossly over-exaggerate the importance of everything. As though it were our full time job to do so.

No I don't' think we over exaggerate the importance of humans in our Universe , because we are a race ... humanoids of intelligence extraordinary , we eventually and the scientist group will develop ways to move to other planets in a distant galaxy to continue the human race and populate new world , and history will repeat it self again and again , we are overpopulating this world for sure, but time moves on and this world will end sooner or later , and as is obvious we humans have this need to survive , perhaps you and I will die , but there will be some one else that will have the opportunity to be in the group that will colonize a new world , as it has happened to us , we don: come from monkeys , we are descendants of other civilisations , look at your history , and you will see your prove .

Yes. In the grand scheme we are like a cluster of bacteria on a grain of sand in respect to a Universe the size of earth

Homo Erectus lived upon the earth for ~1.5 million years. They were more primitive than us Homo Sapien Sapiens, who have only lived upon the earth for ~400,000 - 500,000 years. So that means we have to survive for at least 1 million more years as a species before we match our primitive ancestor's reign. So in the overall scheme we are pretty insignificant, but if we don't care about our own importance who else will?

Not at all. What would the universe be without human life on this or any other planet? Peace and love be with you.

absolutely, we are just animals like the other creatures that evolved on this planet. we are so infinitely small in the universe, the idea that we have some kind of major importance over everything is completely naive.
