Worried - no, apathetic - yes. Nobody is very inspiring, certainly not 'hug-a-hoodie' Cameron or Grandpa Ming. Brown is virtually certain to be PM, and Livingstone can't challenge him, Roy, because he is not in Parliament!

Brown raided the pension funds and has made taxation very complicated, but he has done a good job on the economy - no recessions, no recurrence of 'Black Wednesday' in 1992 when the Tories put our mortgages up 5% in one day. I think Brown has a good brain but comes across as dour. He has done quite a lot for children in his budgets.

Perhaps the real worry is about who will be elected President of the USA in 2008? Will it be another crazy neo-con like Bush, maybe his brother Jeb? I suspect that Britain has not been truly independent of the USA since they bailed us out financially after the Second World War. We jumped when the Americans ordered us out of Suez in 1956, let Reagan keep cruise missiles here in 1983, and followed Bush into a stupid invasion of Iraq in 2003. Perhaps Brown will have to take his orders from Washington, that is what we should be worrying about!

If Gordon Brown (not when!) is made PM he will have split the Labour party back into left and right camps again. I believe that John Reid and maybe even Red Ken might challenge him for the leadership. Bliar who has lied and lied to the electorate will probably set Brown up in any case so that even if he is made leader that it will be an unsustainable leadership.

oh my god yes! blairs going to leave a legacy of carnage as it is. browns money obsessed, and i don't think he like blair, is bothered about what british people are concerned with. eg immigration, crime, nhs and education amongst others, and actually is seen to do something rater than make fruitless promises. are economy has had it if brown takes over, and people are saying now that if taxes go up, they wont be able to afford to work and will go on the dole. thus this contradicts blair saying his focus was to get people 'off' benefits and back to work. im seriously worried too, but is there anyone else?

NO. GB is the most likely to succeed to the leadership following the usual election from within the Parliamentary Labour Party.

People in UK, be afraid, be very afraid! With a none the care less attitude, you will only suffer the consequences of your action in the future. Go out to the ballot boxes and make a difference!

I am! He'll be taxing us to see the sun next, £2 per day in the countryside, only 70p per day in the cities. (polution you see) And if you get a tan then it's an extra £1!

Oh, and for the person above, yes, I am rich, I stand to loose all that my family has fought over. It's all communism and that is not what we voted in.

I think you will find that most of the voting public is more apathetic about this than any other single issue - in other words - we just dont care anymore. Doesn't matter who it is - we will be shafted.

Maxwell and the others who are saying it does not bother you. It should and it will bother you when Brown starts taxing more money from your wages, Pay as you drive, taxes on cigarettes are going to be even higher, travelling abroad by palne will cost you even more, and you say you are not bothered. As what Catherine Tate says on her show, 'HOW DARE YOU.' You should be bothered about our country.

Not worried as such (and certainly not seriously so) - only prepared for what may occur and doing so with one eyebrow pre-raised in anticipation.
