I am 16 weeks pregnant and have had constant cramps since I was a little less than 6 weeks. I understand a little discomfort, but I can barely move sometimes. There has been no bleeding. The pain is pretty constant but spikes at certain times. The doctors keep telling me that if I'm not bleeding to not worry, but I can't help but be terrified. This is my first pregnancy. What could it be??

sounds like stretching tendons and muscles and ligaments. They do this clear through your pregnancy.

In the begining it just feels like period cramps because its just your uterus itself thats growing. But as it gets bigger the other tendons that hold it in place, and the ligaments and mucles that cover the uterus, are stretched and pulled.

Its painful, especially when you're round tendons kick in (between 16-24 weeks, depending on how you're developing), they stop you in your tracks and make it so you cant stand up straight. its a hot searing pulling pinching pain. takes your breath away some times.

But it is normal.

staying active can lessen the intensity and help them stretch faster.

If you just cant take it one day, break down and take a tylenol.

be sure to always drink water, lack of water can give you contractions.

Yes. Each womans pregnancy is distinct. At eight weeks i Had NO signs and was bragging when you consider that i thought i was residence free but then a week later morning sickeness hit me like a brick. Some girl have morning sickness from the day they see that red line and others could on no account get it. It all relies on your body and how it responds to being pregnant. As long as you aer now not bleeding you are excellent

I am 14 weeks and have the same issue. I was seen by my doctor. She did an ultrasound and checked me. She said the only thing it could be was my uterus stretching. Kinda a crappy answer but she is right. Good luck and congrats on the baby.

Listen to your doctors, they are right. At least you are not bleeding. I would not worry unless you were bleeding. You could also be stretching. Just be careful when getting up and try to rest as much as you can.

If the doctor's say you are okay, then you are okay...just be careful with your activities...did the doctor give you restrictions and limitations ( things you should not do or things you would be better off not doing...) Take care of your self and listen to the doctor...they know better than any of us here.

I will be thinking about you.
