i need to make a family tree but i am not sure if it is supposed to be by blood or by marriage. like to i include my cousin's wife for example or my uncle's wife??

after i complete my family tree, i need to ask them if they have hair on the middle segment of their fingers. what does that mean? does it mean hair on the place where the finger bends like the second part from top? do you know what i mean?

In most cases spouses are included, particularly those who are above you in the tree (like your "uncle's wife", who would be your aunt). However, you would not trace those people's ancestry; you merely acknowledge that they married your blood relatives.

Many family trees wouldn't even include cousins at all, and a cousin's wife would definitely be stretching it.

Yes, you should include them, but the family tree goes back by blood relatives....

So a husband or wife just goes next to the name of the blood relative, and the year of their marriage.

When I had to do this is high school (for biology class), I included everyone by marriage, especially if they had children, so I would include everyone.

since you didnt get adequate instructions from your teacher ---YOU choose
make a family tree that is by blood its easier

grand parents produce children one of which is your parent...parents have kids.(you and your siblings) etc
