Hello, I am truly concerned about the fact that i am going to a state school (CalStateLA) to receive my undergrad, rather than a more prestigous school like a UC or USC. Will it seriously matter which school I am coming from to be admitted in Loyola Marymount Law or USC Law. P.S. I am an English major

UC is also a state school. That aside, it's not just primarily about your undergrad school when law schools are making admission decisions. What they find more important is how you did and how you spent your time outside of school. If you go to USC or UC, but average a 2.0 GPA with no volunteer, clubs, sports or organizations, a law school isn't likely to admit that person. Even at your school, if you do well and are involved, it impresses admission officers.

It shouldn't. Though some people and some schools make a big deal about prestige, what really matters is what you learn. If you apply yourself, you can learn as much (or more) at Cal State-LA as you can at Harvard.

Get the best grades you can, get lots of appropriate out-of-school experiences (for example, volunteer in a free legal clinic), and do your best on the LSAT. If a school doesn't think your undergrad degree is "good enough" to merit admission, tell them in no uncertain terms that they're not good enough for you. There are LOTS of law schools, and if you're a qualified candidate, you'll get into a good one.

that is all bearing directly to the numbers. in case you at the instant are not a beneficiary of affirmative action, then you incredibly will choose a extreme-170s LSAT and a GPA of a minimum of a three.8 to have a shot at the two of those faculties. the two are small faculties, somewhat Yale (<2 hundred scholars consistent with type), so inspite of stellar numbers, not something is a given. All issues being equivalent, a level from Harvard, Yale, and so on. would be properly worth greater suitable than yet another college, yet interior the top that is not extraordinarily significant.
