Why is the Spartan way of life superior to those of the Athenians?

I have a huge debate on this tommorrow, and i really cant see how i can defend a city where they send their kids at teh age of 7 to the military, how can that be any good? Yes, the spartan women have more rights than the athenian women, but i need more reasons than just that. They are only good at war, how does that do me any good in a debate???

im doing this in history the spartan way of life is superior to those of the athenians because the spartans had a very good army. at the age of 7 the boys would start training theyd be given very little food so they had to steal it to teach them how to be sneaky. the women were kept in very good shape so they could have more children, mostly for boys. the athenians didnt have an all that great army but they had a good trade system they traded through their main lands

The society is trained to give their life to Sparta. Their life falls into a thin mold. Athenians, however get a huge bowl. They have more freedom, but dissent reigns. The children are trained to look down on the ground among other things, but no one rebels.

Spartan honored the body and devoted all their lives to working for an amazing military. They set their goals and standards high and worked their butts off to achieve their goal and the greatest military of all times. They NEVER complained and were taught respect and to honor authority. They were strong and looked up to.
