There are special brushes with extension handles which are meant for this purpose. They are sold inexpensively in supermarkets, and places like X-mart.

Also, the way I 'dust' my cieling is to put a pillowcase or a towel over the broom (the straw end), and 'sweep' the cieling. Then of course, I wash the pillowcxase/towel. Works like a charm.

if you are cleaning the ceiling to paint it and you have washed it with sugar soap your next step is to paint it with an oil based paint let it dry then you can paint it with emulsion the oil based paint keeps the stains from coming through

If it were me I would paint over it. Emulsion is water based, so you might start to thin the paint and mix it with the dirt if you work too hard at it!

Dirty ceiling? Are you throwing spaghetti and meatballs at the ceiling to see if it is cooked well?
