In some weird way I was thinking that maybe Davy Jones was the Kraken, I mean being the sea creature that he is. Are the two of them in fact one in the same?

No, more that anything that goes on in the sea, DAvy has domain over, so the Kraken is like his pit bull

It means that he can control the sea. Rather than being the Kraken,he controls it and when it attacks. Thats why whenever he orders his crew to pull that thing on his ship-the kraken comes out. Also...another hint to this is that he was watching when the Kraken attacks so it cant possibly be him.

It means he has a Poseiden complex. See Poseiden was the Greek GOD of the Sea. Davy Jones (not to be confused with the Monkees Davy Jones) is having a GOD complex moment.

doesn't it just meant tjat davy jones basically controls the sea. he can call the kraken when needed, and can appear out of nowhere

ummm...davy jones is the sea because he owns the sea. it's his waters and he controls them. the Kraken belongs to him. ;)

i got the impression that he controlled the entire sea including the kraken. when i watch it again i will watch a little closer and see if i perceived it wrong. good question

no, i think that it means he is the sea, as in he controls it, he knows it, he can create obstacles, he will always know were you are, ect. like poisidon: the greek god......
