The conversion rate is really going to depend on where you decide to convert the money. The International Exchange rate for 08 December 2006 is

1 US Dollar = 115.097 Japanese Yen
1 Japanese Yen (JPY) = 0.008688 US Dollar (USD)

A yen averages around 1/10 of an american penny. There are 100 pennies in a dollar, so a yen is about 1/1000 of an american dollar.

1 USD = 7.82540 Chinese Yuan
0.127789 USD = 1 Chinese Yuan

you have to realize money conversion change all the time, depending on the time and the day.

the Chinese Yuan in chinese is also pronounced and sounds like 'Yen'. but when in english i try to make a distinction. but since you wrote

US dollar = 115.274 Japanese yen
There is also a Chinese yuan (I think pronounced 'yen') which is
US dollar = 7.83 Chinese yuan
