How lame is this? On news shows, etc. They say: "email us and let us know how you feel." Why?

If you have legitimate business with them they won't get back to you if you email them. Why do they pretend to be all cozy with both you and technology when all the responses just go on a server file?

It encourages participation with the news organization. Most viewers will watch the program more oftern if they feel that they are being interacted with. Also its a good guage for editors to learn the opinion of their audience for choosing which stories to run or which way to present the news. Basicly, it all related to ways to increase ratings.
