Sorry, but I see nothing wrong with this "class" system. It was not based on a person's nationality, race, gender, age, etc. No one was discriminated against Rather it was based on how much they paid for their ticket. Those who paid large amounts got more benefits. Those who paid a small amount got fewer benefits. That is only fair. They got what they paid for is all.

i do not think anything is wrong with the class system for buying tickets and getting the "extras" that you pay for. however... life boats, jackets and rescuing are NOT "extras" every life should have had the same value, and i'm not talking money here. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class passengers should have had an equal opportunity, and right to be saved.

Not sure this says anything about the "class system", but it sure does say a lot about how much you paid for your ticket. If you want to be in first class, buy a first class ticket.
This would be a more meaningful question if everyone paid the same amount for their tickets but were then arbitrarily assigned to 1st class, etc simply on their appearance or skin color.

I don't know if you are trying to make more of this than what it is. The above answers are absolutely correct. It is a "quid-pro-quo" and that is all. If you are trying to make it into "classes" based on race, religion...ect., it does NOT apply in this case.
Now, there ARE lifeboats for everyone regardless of price paid. If you do classify people based on race, religion..ect, then whomever is doing so is just proving their ignorance. The moment that you display prejudice...You lose and prove yourself ignorant.
This is proven in everyday life.....For those who have their eyes open....

I'm of the same opinion as dewcoons. We have 1st / 2nd / 3rd class rail fares, air fares, concert tickets etc. normal and if I choose 3rd class I save money...

there's no longer loads of suggestion handling this thought. Oddly sufficient, the main distinctive presumptions of this thought are oftentimes presented with the help of critics of the LDS faith (they make all varieties of assumptions per small statements) in an attempt to render the belief 'stupid'. The LDS church itself says little on the priority different than to declare that we do believe that we are our Father's little ones, and have the skill to alter into heirs to all He has to grant us. all of us know that he's God with all that that includes. President Hinckley, the President of the LDS church has stated this in a Time magazine interview, Aug 4, 1997 "i don't know that we instruct it. i don't know that we emphasize it. i haven't heard it stated for a protracted time in public discourse. i don't know. i don't know each and all the circumstances below which that fact replaced into made. I understand the philosophical history in the back of it. yet i don't know lots approximately it and that i don't know that others know lots approximately it." That being stated, i will grant this in clarification. The LDS believe in progression via the eternities. If we are genuine and committed in all issues, we could have the skill to alter into like God our Father and stay perpetually interior the kinfolk unit, working with Him to bless and exalt our toddlers. We believe that we are education infinitly constructive little ones and ourselves to be heirs to all that God will grant us.
