To some degree we are all wading through the debris of other peoples minds, with the belief that ours is the one that is truly intact.

It is a rare quality to keep growth at any age. Most of us got retarded below the 30s. The rest may grow up to 40. Keeping the growth even after 40 may be found one in a million or so. Knowing ourself is the birth of an intellectual personality. Those who keep growth until last breathe is the true wise one.

As long as you keep growth, you are moving through a standing crowd or dead crowd. I am neither a poet nor a writer. But on this matter, I have written few lines as below:

MENTALLY RETARDED

Some are born mentally retarded
We all treat them so alike.
They have very childish mind.
They know not to react to anything.

Yet others gained some mental growth
Say for a year, two or three.
They ask for food of their choice
And some reactions against dislikes

There are some grown few more years
May be a ten or twenty years they,
Grown and the mind went so saturated
Now they know their ways to make life

Few keep growing up thirty or forty
They think gained all that they do need
There he is dead and no more the growth
Thinks not what for his rest of the life is.

Wise is the one that keeps up the growth
Of his mind until he reaches the end
Let death of the mind and body be once
And surely he is the one not retarded.

I remember that feeling very well. I truly did feel that I understood more than they would ever even learn. I was on top of an intellectual mountain, at the bottom of which stood the rest. That went along with my twenties. It's such a relief to know that not only do I not know everything but I don't HAVE to know everything.
People became interesting again after that.

No I only feel like I am standing still in a moving crowd. I could be on the bus and see all of the things that are going on around me while I sit their unmoving and dazed zoned out with my music. It is an interesting feeling.

All too often. I'm constantly frustrated with people. I can't understand how some of them make it through life. I guess somebody must be looking out for them. I'm not even talking about academics, it's just, where the heck did common sense go? Don't even get me started. Just this afternoon this one guy almost knocked me over because he was trying to skitch on the back of a mail truck and he lost his grip and careened into me. He wasn't even a kid, he was like in his mid 30's. His kid was off to the side cheering him on. This happened in the iced over parking lot at the post office. You have to believe it was very hard to contain myself from kicking his behind right there in front of his kid.

I try not to. Experience can give us the impression that we are quicker of thought or better at thinking than others near us, but often I find it's not that I'm a quicker thinker than someone else but that they think in a different way which it is often illuminating to try to perceive and consider.
