If I love him more than a friend, yes. Why not. Is it better to hold it back. But one needs to be sure that the feeling is reciprocal cause otherwise it is better to keep it under wrap. You wouldn't want to lose a friend just because YOU imagined something that was never there.....

Yes, of course, obviously you guys have enough in common to have a friendship, and a friendship is a good bases for a relationship, I married my best friend after high school and we are still together, If things don't work out, you might loose the friendship, but I guess it would be better to know then to miss the opportunity!

As a matter of fact I have dated my really close guy friend. We were like best friends, then it just happened that we ended up being a couple. It was great while it lasted. But I guess all good things come to an end. We broke up and we both moved on. I am married to someone else and he is dating other gals. We are still friends.
Do whatever your heart tells you to do. Good luck.

In my 20's I would say go for it. But now as my friends are getting married and involved with their own families, I cherish the friends I have and would not want to chance in ruining things. Good luck :)

that depends on how close we are and how strong the attraction really is. if we are really close and such good friends, i'll think twice. i wouldn't want to risk jeopardizing a friendship just out of curiousity of how it would feel like going on a date with him. however, if the attraction is too strong to contain, then i'll go for it. even if it affects the friendship, at least it was worth the try.

If the two of you are really good friends, then I would date him. Why not? Sometimes that's the best you can have.

depends on the circumstances... if we both thought that it was worth taking the risk and that it wouldn't change our relationship for the worst. (or become somesort of friends with benefits situation.) Plus it is important that neither of us are in the rebound mode.
