Bearing in mind that politicians are public servants, why is their pay demands not kept in line with those they represent rather than the Captains of Industry.

I'm a nurse, and the polititians want us to accept a payrise of 1.5%...... below inflation. How can this be right, when they want to award themselves 66%?

The "Captains of Industry" make way more than politicians -- as far as salary is concerned. The average CEO pay in the US is at least a million a year and many make 10, 20 even 100 times that with options bonuses etc.

I don't know if a charge of "Abuse of Power" would be appropriate but this lot (all parties) have certainly given us an example of unfettered greed. I believe that a couple of years ago they had their salaries lined up with the topmost civil servants but I think this only applies to their pay as MP's nothing to do with allowances of 100.000 + pounds sterling. Captains of Industry usually (but not always) have to justify their money by results.

I know, they don't have to go to university or anything and they want to be payed like a Doctor! They already have their taxes waived and their houses paid for, what on earth are they going to do with £100,000 a year?

I think the Queen should dissolve parliament. She should use her power to do so before she retires and give the British people something to cheer and be thankful.
