Do all of your research first........ on line.......that is the best source and some sites even have videos to watch...........Check out all of on line sources for purchasing equipment to build.......such as EPDM pond liner or XAVAN liner. What type of underlayment . How large a pond

ask your local garden shops, the pet shops and garden club members
get a book at the garden shop about ponds and building them

lowe's building centers will give you good advice and provide you with cost effective materials, including plants. lowe's gardening people are typically certified and they've helped me a lot. didn't even make my dumb questions seem so dumb after all!
