And maybe you're joking that you're not going to also? I would hate to think one of my answers contributed to someones untimely demise. I tried it at least once and like everything else I failed at it also.I'm relieved that I can think that this one time I had won for losing.I would hardly call suicide as being something successful anyway. Many hospitals are usually very successful at keeping you alive long enough to take whatever they can get financially. My father is currently dying from cancer and it's strange how when they tell someone that they only have about 9 months to live it seems to be planned out that way with current insurance coverages and treatments. In some ways trusting hospital care is assisted suicide with a higher price called Health Care.Or should it be called: Wealth Care?

actually i didn't click on this question to tell you not to i came to tell you what a moron you were for announcing it that way if you were actually gonna do it then you would not have needed to tell all these people about it you would have just done it, it really irritates me when people think that the only way to get help is to threaten suicide because if you truely needed help you have millions of choices especially in the united states there are therapists there are school counselors there are parents friends grandparents teachers churches if you what their help but i guess you wouldn't because no true christian would commint suicide,,,, anyway i am glad that you were just joking but it was not funny
Oh yeah your question about assisted suicide; i am for it because they have strict guidlines that you have to fall under to qualify in the first place its not like some zit faced kid that is picked on too much can have it it is for people who are in such pain from a disease that is about to kill them and the purpose is to let is happen a little sooner so that they don't have to suffer
I live in a "right to die state" oregon where they have legalized assisted suicide my mother in law was given less that 3 months and was offered the "PAS" phasician assisted suicide but she declined because of her religious beliefs over the next 2 months i watched her suffer and eventually die in excrutiating pain because she was allergic to all the good pain meds and if i were her i would have opted out when i had the opportunity
I love her and miss her but i wish she had not suffered

People trying to commit suicide they don't let anyone knows they are doing it. If you are telling it to us, meaning you want our sympathy and attention, joke or no joke, right. Assisting suicide no way for me, your joke is not cruel you just want an answer. Good luck with your writing.

hmm. did touch a nerve. a line from V for vendetta: "Artistes use lies to convey the truth, whereas politicians use lies to hide the truth"
I believe that the right to live in dignity should automatically come with a right to die in dignity. coz with all those terminally ill, vegetative state, comatose etc patients you're just making them live a life of indignity & suffering, right?
But who decides over life or death? well, we ourselves should. there's a growing clan of people who have included it in their will (or pre-will to be exact) that if they were ever to fall in a medical state in which they would not be able to decide for themselves, and there was a less that 10% chance of full recovery, then they should be put to peace.
I support the argument, but a word of caution: a possible legislation would have to safeguard against malpractice! aside from conspiracy theories, really the right to die must go hand in hand with the right to live. After all, it is the loved ones of such patients that suffer in terms of trauma, time spent, resources, money, etc.
If we believe in an afterlife, we shouldn't have a problem with those who want to voluntarily end this life.

Assisted suicide i agree with in the cases of terminally ill patients, ie cancer, AIDS, etc. I first think they should undergo counselling and must speak to their families about their choice first. Christ we would put a sick dog under, does a human not deserve the same dignity.
Suicide for any other reason is selfish.

A person should have the right to live or die. When a person is forced to live in pain and the cost to live in pain just to make family and friends feel better for their own selfish needs and to keep a doctor/ insurances paid is a crime in its self !
