I remember I used to be social but then I had a hair trauma that caused me to be anti-social. Do I need self-esteem to be social? How do I get rid of being painfully shy? People mistake me for being rude and proud when really all I want is to make friends and conversations.

Make yourself talk to people, put yourself out there. You do need selfesteem to be social because if you feel good about yourself then you can be yourself around people and be confortable.

I have the same problem. I am extremely shy and I worry about if a person wants to talk to me or not. Just talk to a person about the teacher or class. It works for me. good luck hun :)
