First you need to improve your writing. Capitalize the first word in a sentence. Capitalize the pronoun I. Avoid ending a sentence with a preposition. You're choice of words is rather poor as well. How many years of study? is better than "how long for vet school?". You will be required to have an undergraduate degree in a hard science major such as biology, chemistry or others with very good grades. Each school of veterinary medicine has it's own course prerequisites such as a certain number of credits in chemistry and what type of chemistry and many other prerequisites. Most USA veterinary schools are four years in duration and lead to the professional degree D.V.M. The University of Pennsylvania is unique in the degree is V.M.D. So this is a total of eight years of education. Four years of undergraduate education and four years of professional school. Competition is fierce for entrance into all schools of vet. med. It's also very expensive. Good Luck

There's a wonderful vet school in Oklahoma, but I know that's not real close to Kentucky. I thought you only had to go 6 years, but I could be wrong. It might be 8.
I know my niece went there and then moved back to California and worked for a vet for a couple of years and has now opened her own Emergency only vet clinic near L.A. and I'm sure making big bucks!

Kentucky has a contract with Auburn University to accept a number of students into its veterinary program.
It IS possible to get in the veterinary program after 3 years of undergraduate work, but it's difficult. Usually 4 years are required. Those undergraduate years can be spent anywhere, but it's best to choose one with a strong pre-veterinary curtriculum and record of acceptance of their graduates.

you first must do your pre-vet classes which can take 3-4 years then you must apply and be accepted to vet school which takes another 4 years. Purdue university is a great place to go for vet medicine. if you are still in high school i would talk with your counselor for advice and schools close to you
