Spotting is normal.
Bleeding like you're having a period, or passing clots is signs of a miscarriage.
You're fine.
And for the record, your doctors office MUST have an after hours number for you to call. Whether its the hospital that picks up, or and answering service, someone has to page the doctor for emergencies, and you're allowed to initiate it. Women dont just have babies 9-5. They have them at 12 am too. Thats why its required.

You need to go to the emergency room. You could have an ectopic pregnancy or be a threatened miscarriage. If nothing else, you'll be able to calm your nerves. Once you're at the hospital they will do a test to see how much of the pregnancy hormone is in your system. If it's low you probably miscarried. If you do miscarry, then it's not your fault at all--sometimes the baby just isn't strong enough to exist within the womb, much less outside of it. I had a miscarriage April 12th and I know it's something VERY hard to go through. My bleeding was light at first, until the baby actually was expelled from my womb. Sometimes women do bleed all through their pregnancies but even then thy are put on bed rest. You need to get checked out to make sure you're not having a miscarriage or have an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. The dangers of an ectopic pregnancy are reason enough, because if your tubes rupture you could bleed to death, or never have a child again. Better to be safe and assured. Best wishes!

Most of the time when a women miscarries, she experiences cramping, pain and heavy bleeding. Sounds to me like you are having some break through bleeding. I had spotting off and on throughout my second pregnancy. My doctor reassured me that as long as it was not heavy bleeding and there was no cramping, things were fine. My daughter was born with no complications. Good luck to you and congratulations.

It may be possible what you're seeing isn't blood, i don't know what it looked like, but when i was pregnant with my first child, i freaked out over a similar thing, i would wipe and see slivers of pink or red on the toilet paper, come to find out it was in the toilet paper and i hadn't really noticed it before, and when i wiped the wetness caused it to be more vibrant.

This is NORMAL, dont freak out. Stress is the most common cause of miscarriages so dont worry about your spotting. If you look on the website I have provided, it should give you a little insight to what you are experiencing. Normal or not, see your doctor and take great care of yourself for the future health of you and your child. I wish you the best of luck.

It sounds like it may just be spotting, which is normal in early pregnancy. However, if it gets heavier or you begin to have very painful cramps you should call the doctor that is on call or just go to the ER. Even if it doesn't get worse and you feel fine, you should still notify your doctors office tomorrow to see if they want you to come in or to be on bed rest, just to be on the safe side.
