I believe Iran is developing nuclear wepaons, but are they a threat without these WMD's? When they showed off their military might, is it really there or is it just a feigning display to intimidate? Is Iran even a threat to the West?

They are still a threat because they dont value life like here in the west. During the Iran Iraq war Iran sent thousands of young men and children into battle without weapons just to die. They will come and blow themselves up, they will hold the world hostage with oil. We would have an extremely hard time to take Iran by a land battle because nearly every man woman child would defend against "the great satan"

They have already shown themselves to be dangerous, even without those WMD's - in these ways:
1 - Iran has been evolving from a relatively progressive society, to a fundamentalist one, since its revolution in the late 70's. As such, its leaders have openly voiced a desire to eliminate Israel, Britain and the U.S. from the face of the earth.
2 - Since before the war in Iraq, Iran has continuously provided militias and terrorists who cross the border into Iraq to try to destabilize it and topple its leadership.
3 - Iran is now known to be a substantial supporter of Lebanese terrorists, both monetary and in terms of weapons.
4 - Iran has a recent history of close economic and political ties with the interests of Russia.
5 - Iran is known to currently provide safe-haven for terrorists who are wanted internationally for attacks on various western countries.
6 - Iran's president refuses to cooperate with the international community in having his nuclear facilities inspected, as per Iran's own treaties with the U.N. (Sound familiar?)
7 - While at first saying that the nuclear facilities were for the development of sources of power for domestic use, after evidence from several western governments' intelligence agencies came to light, showing that these facilities in fact were going far beyond what was needed to create domestic power - and most recently that Iran traded uranium for weapons (needed in the production of nuclear bombs) with Somalia in total violation of a standing U.N. arms embargo - the president of Iran basically said who cares? I'm making the WMDs and you can't stop me.

So yeah. . . .I think Iran's a threat to the West. However, I think that their ability to actually set off a bomb is still a few short years off. What happens in the meantime may mean how long you and I get to live.

Although, I would predict, as I believe most experts would, that Iran's first nuclear bomb, if fired, will hit Israel.

the west should aim a couple of hundred nuclear warheads at anything that is of value to Iran, than let them know the first time they try anything fancy, we elimenate them from the face of the earth, worked pretty good with the russians, didn't it
