Alot depends where you live? How cold? Are they indoor plants? If so usually two or three times a week. All plants have different watering needs. I think a good trick is stick a pencil into the soil 1/2 inch or so wiggle around enough to get one of your fingers. You will tell after time if its too dry or wet. Over watering will cause root rot. Try to find out the names and go to sites like Home & Garden. They should have links to plants needs. Such as light, watering, and known issuses. Like diseases and bugs.

If they are showing signs of wilt they need to be watered. Morning glories are annuals collect the seeds till it warms up. When you are ready to replant lightly rub them on sand paper and soak them in water for 24 hrs then plant them and they will sprout quickly and grow no waiting for germination.
