the metric system is all about 10's and hundreds... or just moving the decimal..... liters is larger = 1, milliliters =.001 so move the decimal to the right.....three places 12.45 L = 12450ml. Example the other way, say you have 3442.0 ml move the decimal to the left three places = 3.442 L.
