Assuming that all people and all pets were safe and in no danger, what would be the first thing you would grab if your home was on fire, and why?

assuming that everyone and my dog were to safety, i'd then get important papers and kids pictures to safety, then would grab a fire extinguisher and try to save the rest of our stuff before the fire dept. arrived. the reason why would be that people and pets are most important to me, with papers and pictures next. most things can be replaced, but people/pets and some things are priceless and cannot be replaced.

Many people have died going back in to a fire. I would grab papers and pictures of family because they cant be replaced

Car keys,to get out of the cold and find a place to stay ,my purse ,has check book and credit card to pay for a place to stay . important papers and picture albums .can not be replaced .

This sounds cliche even as I write it, but if my daughter and husband were out of the house, I can't think of anything I'd risk my life to preserve. It can all be replaced.
