My husbands family and my family both have their Christmas parties on Christmas Eve which makes the day stressful and less fun for us because we have to travel with two children and both feel like we are missing out on the fun with our families. Neither of us want to miss our on our family's celebration...any suggestions?

Take turns, or, invite them to your home, and see if they show up. Your should be able to have some fun and family time, instead of stressing out the whole time. Good luck with that!! You cannot have it all.
