Take all variables containing 'x' to one side of the equation and those variables not containing 'x' to the other side of the equation. You will then have 5x-3x=12+2 or 2x=14 after computation and you will then get x=7 after division by two across the equation......

Hope that helps!!

group together the like terms put the algebra terms together and the number together terms on opposite sides of the = sign since u carried the 5x over it becomes negative and the -2 becomes +2 so u end up with -2x = 14 so divide by -2 on both sides and x =-7

if you move all the terms with "x" to the left and all the numbers to the right, you get:
3x - 5x = 12 +2
-2x = 14

now, divide both sides by "-2"

x = "-7"

Subtract 3x-2 from both sides
2x + 14 = 0
Subtract 14 from both sides and divide each side by 2
x = -7
