technically your only supposed to lift 1/3 your weight. Take you weight multiply it by .33 and that is the amount you are well recomended to lift.

It is considered better for development for heavier regimes of weight lifting to be done after puberty because the body is still growing, and such heavy activity would put your body's normal growing stage at a disadvantage. So a milder form of lifting activity could be pursued, also other sports activities, such as running, exercising, etc. Just don't overdo. You don't say how old you are, but if you are still in school, your phys-ed staff at school may be knowledgeable in that respect. Your doctor should be informing you of this, also.

To maximize muscle growth, you should lift every other day. Your muscles need a day to rest and recuperate. Lifting every day won't stunt your growth but it won't add to it either. I advise all of my clients to do cardio work on their off days. That increases blood flow which will enhance muscle growth when you do lift. And be sure to alternate low weight, many reps with high weight, low reps during your workout. That will enhance muscle growth as well. If you do the same exercise all the time your muscles get used to it and don't work as hard.

No guesses, hard fact.Yes,lifting heavy weights can and does stunt the height growth of juveniles who have not finished their growing period.Lifting light weights however will not,as long as it is light exercise you will be fine.Swimming is an excellent way to increase muscularity without it affecting your growth, producing firm, toned muscles.good luck with your workout.
