Mine was the week after I got on the road and still learning, I couldn't wait to tell anyone who'd listen, it seemed like a massive landmark at the time.

And yes I know its not big, its not clever, and its not funny but I don't care cos I like it.

You should join the army boys down in Aldershot on a Sunday when they all take out their Ducattis and Hondas etc up the M3 and burn up the road at over 160mph. Needs to be a Sunday so you can ride along the white line with your head down or you'll lose the road fairly quick. I asked a friend once why the hell he did 165mph on his bike, his answer, "It only goes up to 165"

I wasnt driving but....Ohh I can it was behind my cousin. The maniac hit 121 mph on a road I wouldnt do 60 on. I took the knee out of a good pair of levi jeans when he leant into a right angle bend to the left.It was a Boneville export model. Destined for the US but the order was cancelled. Go to google maps and look for Hanging Hill Lane. You can see the bend. Just past a road called the Tyburns. That bend owes me some denhim..That Must have been about 1980..Ok so I`m a golden oldie. I was what was called a greaser at the time. What might be called a biker now. And yes its not big or clever but man its a real adrenaline rush....

Yes I can. It was in the 60's and I was riding a Triumph 110 with Bonneville export bars on ( cow horn handle bars, for those of you who don't know ) I was travelling to St Helens from the Manchester end of the East Lancs road, as I approached Carr Mill railway bridge, where the national speed limit began, I turned my head round to see if there where any police about and my sun glasses blew off. We didn't have to wear crash hats then but, had the approaching traffic lights changed against me I might not be writing this letter with all my digits in tact.
At 62 I am still motorcycling, and doing the odd ton now and then, but at least we have better brakes and tyres these days.
I am also an advanced rider, which, although it doesn't mean I can speed it makes me more aware of any hazards I may be about to approach.

Yes, when I got a KLR 650 (rubbish bike) after years of riding motocross bikes - I was used to just giving it full throttle all the time because of short gearing on crossers - got on the 650 with longer gears and it felt sluggish, but then looked down and realised I was actually moving quite fast. Came over a little humpback bridge in Cambridgeshire doing a ton and went airborne big time. The faces in the cars coming the other way were amazing! Nowadays I've calmed down and ride a big old K100.

Yes, 1987 another employee at the service station had a GS1100-and was complaining about being smoked by a 900 Ninja. His GS had V&H or Yoshi header, pod filters, hotter cams and all that crap. He didn't know crap about his bike, but I insisted that he should lose a drag to a stock 900.

Well, one night after work, he shows up-like I am his big brother defending him from a bully-with the Ninja rider too. So ,being 19 and knowing everything-I race him... down a sidestreet.... yes! I am smoking this guy...and then looking down as the speedo was well over a ton. I got off the bike-walked a few blocks back to the station, got in my car and left. I'm an mx guy, never did that again.

The ton was on a GPZ 550 many years ago. I remember more - hitting the two ton last year on a deristricted Hayabussa - really thrilling and like straddling a torpedo because the air-stream felt as solid as water! The thing would get to 100mph from rest in 5 seconds (quicker than an R1), popping power rises (non-clutch induced wheelies) up to 3rd gear. The bike had to go because it was lulling me into a false sense of invincability ! Pleaze be careful !!!

I can remember very well regularly getting up to 75 on a long stretch of west Texas road but that was the speed limit. I used to get way past 100 when I was young and Stupid. That Old Indian Chief would burn up the road . These Days I don't need to get INK all over me. You are only allowed 6 points on your license.(INK= Ticket)

Just about every morning on my way to work. There is a streach of highway where no cops can sit, just a few miles before a toll box. That part of the trip is what I call "my morning coffee"...cause at 110 mph, it'll wake you up quick! Don't recall the first time, but was probibly on my ol' sporty some years back...I got me a softail now.

Yes, Coming back from Matlock in Derbyshire on a z400 twin, it was going down a 1 in 7 hill with the wind behind me, head on the tank doing my smallest man in the world impression.
Its all too easy now.
