One morning I woke up and my son had a hoarse cry and talk by that night it had gotten so bad that his airway was restricted and we had to rush to the er. It was croup. Try running the shower with hot water and letting the steam build up then taking her in the bathroom. Bring toys and play with her on the bathroom floor. If you have a humidifier that will help her tonight while she sleeps. try to keep her in moist air. Croup is common in the winter when the air gets dry. If you think its getting worse take her to the ER (like what I explained with my son where he had trouble breathing: take her shirt off the area where her stomach starts and her ribs end... if that is going inwards far when she breaths in) they can give her a steroid shot and a breathing treatment using a saline solution. She'll be OK just keep on eye on her.

Hey there! Not seeking to scare you, however that is what Jana appeared like while she had croup. It began along with her simply sounding fairly hoarse, and I assumed it used to be from crying plenty. Otherwise while she's fairly worn out she begins to sound like she's loosing her voice!

The only time my baby's cry was hoarse was when he had been crying for a while.
