The most common source of a leaky toilet is an old flapper valve. These are very inexpensive and need to be replaced periodically. They are easily installed following the directions on the package and are available at most large retailers such as wal-mart, k-mart, etc.

Yes and no. Depends.
You really need to add some detail...the leak could be on the valve on the waterline going into the toilet, where the line attaches to the toilet, between the tank and the bowl, or out of the base of the toilet. Each has it's own level of difficulty.
If the "leak" is in the flush valve, and by "leak" you mean it "runs on", and always keeps putting water in the bowl....that's another issue again.
So...it depends...depends on whether you add any more detail to your question!

If the leak is at the base, all you need to do is ,
shut the water,
flush the toilet,
remove the two nuts that hold the toilet to the floor
lift the toilet and replace the wax ring.
Easy.

sure most of the time all you need to do is take the lid off the back and re-adjust the float or bend it down a little so the water doesnt need to get so high. giv it a try if all else fails, plumbers are readlly available.

Sure, go to a hardware or home improvement store. Ask the clerk to show you where you can get a new flapper you can use to replace the worn one you currently have. They are really cheap and easy to replace.

Wait, I left my crystal ball in the truck and I'll go get it and tell you where the leak is. Did you want the lottery number too?
