He should get help on his campus, rather than via the web. Several of my classmates and professors were very helpful while I was writing my masters thesis and other written assignments. You just have to remember to ask for help well ahead of time and have respect for the other person's time committments. I'm sure that he can hire someone to edit, but it would be better if they were on his campus, rather than some stranger hired via the web. He needs to make sure that they are a good editor and an ethical person, since they will be reading his original research.
