Ussually a vacation day counts because it's planned ahead- with my job it does -sick time or emergency doesn't

Over 40 hours is overtime, but when they give you holdiay or vacation hours....you get screwed out of the overtime. Example. You work thirty two hours for the week and you get eight hours of vacation time. That two hours will not count as overtime.

You are incorrect on this matter. OT is paid for anything over 40 hours WORKED. Sick time, holiday time, or vacation time is not time worked so it does not go toward OT consideration.

Pretty creative thinking but absolutely not. If your place of work has a Human Resource department my advise is to present your question to them. Or if it is a private business without that resource available well then you may want to consider what the Boss is saying to you.

You mean work 40 hours and then go on vacation and expect that to be overtime pay !!!
