I have a great, solid dark wood table. It has a finish on it and when I dust it I use Pledge with orange oil extract. Looks great after... but beyond dusting, I sometimes need to really clean it. Food and beverages leave residue that Pledge and a paper towel can't get out. What should I use?

soap and water will not hurt a true hard wood table but soap and water hurts a wood table that has vanier (vanier is a small thin layer piece of wood that is glued to the table that is not a hard wood table but gives the table the true hard wood one piece look so if it is a true one piece hard wood table then soap and water will not hurt it but if it is vanier it will put moisture under the vanier layer and will make it pull from the wood it is glued to
