We as Black Women are beautiful, talented, strong, ambitious, and have some banging azz bodies.
BET Statistics showed that 68% of us black women are in college, getting degrees, and licenses. We weren't allowed to even go to school back when we were being raped, and force to cook, do laundry, and take care of their children. Now we are getting degrees, and working high-profile jobs in the corporate world. We are the Secretary of State of the whole United States, actresses, singers, doctors, lawyers, teachers, and the list goes on. I am so proud of my black women who are making good lives for themselves, and succeeding in a country where we are still fighting to be considered equal. Keep up the good work BLACK WOMEN!!!!! I LOVE YA'LL!

You, as a woman (of any race), may well be beautiful, talented, strong, etc., etc....oh, AND have a smokin' hot bod too ;) !!!
However, it's not due to the fact that you are black or white or any other color. AND, being a black woman doesn't mean you automatically can claim those traits, neither can a person of any other color skin. In fact, to claim that BECAUSE a woman is black, then she must be all of those traits is a racist statement in itself. The people who are truly successful are not the ones who walk through life even thinking about what color their skin is and how that impacts them. Do you think Condoleezza Rice bothers to stop and point out to anyone how successful she has been in life and how that has been affected by her race??? I don't think so; she's been too busy just working hard and excelling at everything she's done throughout her life.
My point is...we are all just people! Not blacks, whites, asians, hispanics, or whatever...just humans! We should ALL strive to be the best we can and if we succeed, then the rest of us should admire and salute that person, no matter what their color is. In other words, it is just as good of a thing (and no better) for a black person to succeed as it is a white person or hispanic or asian , etc. We ALL have the ability! It's the showing of race-based favoritism in your comment and the mentioning of the mistreatment of people of your race from generations ago that keep the poor attitudes alive and keep people fired up. I'm a Christian and back in the day, the Romans fed Christians to the lions for entertainment, should I point that out and claim it has any bearing on who I am or what I do or don't do? Or how about should I hold it against the people living in Rome today? How long do we have to hold onto these things for? When can everyone just let the past be the past and all look forward together? Sorry for the ramble but I think you are putting yourself down when you say things like how successful some black women are today...of course some are successful! Why wouldn't they be since they are every bit as good and capable as any one else? Why the need to point it out unless you think it's remarkable. It's like if someone with no legs swam the english channel or something...now that would be remarkable because that person had an obvious disadvantage. I don't see being a black woman in today's society as being a disadvantage that makes the success of certain individuals to be overly astonishing. They are just as able as any white woman OR man or any other race. Right? I know some people get unreasonable in a discussion like this so, go ahead, I'm ready...flame away!

Thank you for the comments. I think we have come a long way as well.
For those who have insisted on making critical comments, I think the poster was just acknowledging the positive contributions and advances that black women are making. They are refreshing statements in light of all of the negative portrayals of black women in the media and in our society in general. If yahoo answers (considering some of the posts that I have read) is any example of what society truly feels about black women, I am glad someone is seeing us in a positive light.
Thank You Caramel

the explanation why it comes up so normally is how black people result their lives normally happening. I recommend, shall we basically say case in point, you get careworn via a black individual, it eats your huge wakeful. So, they might proportion their reports on line to coach the international how they have been effected via black people. as an occasion, i will start via asserting... I walked via a team of black those with my lady chum and that they referred to as me a pussy. i'm getting interior the elevator, till now the door closes, i see a black individual knock on the door. i'm getting out of the elevator and open the door. the elevator door closes till now i will circulate back. i are not getting a thank you or a sorry. i'm walking and a team of black persons are attempting to mimic my language.

As the cigarette ad says"you`ve come a long way baby"....unfortunately if you look at further statistics...black women have some of the highest divorce rates and multiple partner rates, highest depression and eating disorder rates....so all that glitters is not gold...the sistahs are paying a high price emotionally.

Why does everyone have to turn everything into race? So what if you're black or your white. You should be proud that YOU are doing something with yourlife, not proud because you are a black person doing something with your life
