I saw several. I read an article on yahoo about this being the 65th reunion of Pearl Harbor survivors and how it will be the last time they reunite to share their stories, because most of them are in their 80s. Also on my local news station there were several news stories about local survivors.
I think what is happening is that our generation is so far removed from December 7 1941 and that every year we loose more and more survivors that it is easier to loose track. But it is a shame, we should never forget what happened that day, the sacrifices made and the lives lost. Franklin D. Roosevelt said it best "it is a day that will live on in infamy".
I have heard many compare what happened in 1941 to what happened on September 11, 2001 linking our generation and their generation with a great tragedy.

Well, to a historian, it's obviously an important event, and for the few remaining survivors, it is important to remember it. But maybe the news crews have more important things to do than commemorate yet another "milestone" anniversary--there's got to be a wildfire or kidnapping story somewhere.

Sadly, yes...including me :[
I only remember because my teacher today asked us..."Does any one know why today is such an important day in history?" and I immediately thought of the date (haha) and then was like...OMG it's the day of the Attack on Pearl Harbor! 65 years ago...geeze!!! The U.S. vets who fought that day should receive more recognition....this day should be a marked holiday in remembrance and in honour of those who fought back against the Japanese....because sadly, no one remembers!!
Actually, my local news broadcasters did mention it!

No I've never forgotten about Dec. 7, 1941. A day that still lives in infamy. And a huge thank-you to all who lost a loved one in that conflagration.

Did you hear the story about the surviving veterans. They meet in Hawaii every 5 years and they say this will be the last time they meet because of their age. Sad.
