Now entering its tenth year, PlayStation is the best-selling home console in videogame history. More than 38 million PlayStation consoles have been sold in US alone. It cant turn out to be a failure.

well, last time i used a PS was 4yrs ago... (work) tonight, after a great episode of greys anatomy, and not wanting to watch yet another cop show, i grabbed the dughters PS2... 4 games, ten minutes later, im back on my PC... in fact, my old 486 played doom quite happily...
yes the graphics have got far better, but is there any real gameplay... i just want to get into something incredibly fast, and thrash it to death around a track... i dont want to achieve targets and goals..i do that every day... i just want to have some heartstopping fun... and it seems to be missing, replaced with flash graphhics and a sound track from teh rave halls of ibiza.
maybe im missing the point...

It was in high enough demand that someone got shot in the line to buy one, and one sold for $15,000 to someone in the UK.
The Wii in UK is crazy too, I've been phoning around, thinking I could cheekily pop to Tesco at midnight, and they've had queues since 7pm for them.
I can't imagine the queues at HMV in Oxford Circus today for the Wii launch event!!
I imagine the PS3 will sell even more crazily, especially considering no-one seems to notice the PS2 is rubbish, just cos Sony told them it was good.

If Microsoft's "Live Anywhere" strategy works, the 360 games become even better and the Wii delivers on Nintendo's promises then no.
