Most UK companies import their address data from the PAF (Postcode Address Finder) supplied by the Royal Mail. This contains every official address in the UK, and is frequently updated.
The data for the PAF is provided to the Royal Mail by the Highways or Engineers department of your local council. If you believe that your address has been incorrectly registered or names, then you need to contact this division of your council. It will take some time to filter through to the PAF, however.

You can't - you need the computer to update the database they use. I had this problem for a while as we lived on a 'new' road and I just had to type it in manually. They update quite often though, so you may surprise yourself one day!

It may be because you are not on the electoral role, or is your house a fairly new build or flat conversion???

Why are you trying to tell your computer where you (and presumably it) live? Is it likely to pop out for a packet of fags and never make it home?
