First of all, don't expect to be able to find a way to get peace in the mideast. Many have tried and all have failed.
1. Israel is 10 miles wide at some points. Defending land that small is next to impossible. Therefore, you couldn't take away from Israel's land. You couldn't divide the Palestinians' land either. Israel gave Gaza to them and taking away the West Bank would be a disaster since that's where the best farmland is. Taking away that land would result in starvation.
2. Jerusalem: You can't let the Palestinians have it because, as shown by when they owned part of it, they'd destroy sites sacred to the Jews. The Israelis would probably be the better owners, but geographically, it's looks like it's part of the West Bank.
As if that weren't already complicated, Jerusalem is a holy city for Jews and Muslims, so you can't leave the city in the hands of the other. You could internationalize the city, but the two groups would immediately try to conquer it.
3. Israel already has weapons. Israel won't use them unless Iran makes and fires a nuke. The Palestinians, especially if influenced by groups like Hamas, would use nukes if they had them. I think that Hamas wants to use the nukes because one of their goals is to wipe out the Israelis at all costs. (Check out Hamas' constitution if you need a primary source.)
4. What can be done to maintain peace? If someone knew, there'd be no conflict. Treaties wouldn't work because people don't always agree with the governments that represent them. I can guarantee that if any treaty or ceasefire is made, the violence will continue by the time the ink on the treaty dries.
Shortened version of what I said: Nobody knows the correct solution. If the solution were known, the conflict would've ended already. If you want to learn about the conflict, google a few phrases like "1948," "Israel," "Palestinians," "Arab-Israeli conflict," "Yom Kippur War," "Six Day War," etc. The best source for opinions from both sides would be the "Israel" article on Wikipedia.
Good luck trying to bring about peace in the most violent place on Earth.

The bible was written by the Jews and gives a very one-sided account. This is what really happened: The Jews left Israel for the south after drought and famine and ended up in Egypt, where they were first treated well, and then were enslaved. They they were alolowed to escape and they went back to the lands they had abandoned and ruthlessly killed most of the inhabitants, using God and a so-called promise as justification.
1. this would have to be negotiated; you can't just draw a line on a map and expect everyone to agree with you. The Israelis first have to abide by the UN resolutions re occupied lands
2. ditto
3. nobody
4. Maintaining complete security will be impossible while there is an independent Israeli state, some Palestinians will never accept it, no matter how good the settlement is. Israel is in the wrong place, it should be in the USA.

They have been disputing for thousands of years.
Let's start where it began...Abraham is the father of faith, He is the historical father of Judaism, Islam and Christianity. Abraham disobeyed God and had an illegitmate son (ishmael). He also had another son (Isaac). From these two Children came generations of Muslims and Generations of Jews.
Now, the Jews rejected Christ and because of this anyone who chooses Christ will be received. God opened up heaven for everyone. This is from the Bible and the Khoran a prohecy from the Khoran is that they will be at war with the jews and Christians until they receive thier God or something along those lines.
1. You can't... the palestenians and the Israelis claim that land as their own...God dispersed Israel into exile because they rejected Jesus. The Palestinians have lived there since, and even before. It was also prophesised that Israel would return to their land and there would be strife between them and their neighboring nation until the anti-christ would resolve the issues of the world and be in power and for a period of time be the nice guy who fixed everything until Satan entered him and then the worst of all evils would come...abomination of desolation.
2. The temple mount will be rebuilt(site of solomons temple will be rebuilt) the only problem with that is that there is a mosque on top of the site right now. It will eventually disappear during "The end times" To build the temple in which he will rule come from a one world religion and government that will solve all these issues...
3. Israel already has them unofficially...
4. The Anti-Christ, which Iran's president officially declares openly as the messiah. He's coming, the temple mount being rebuilt is the last of the numerous prophecies accounting for the end time and the reign of the anti-christ to begin.
Here are some other Prophecies that have taken place...Sorry I don't know the specific chapters and verses, but using a concordance in the bible you will be able to read them for reference.
Israel returning and establishing itself as a nation (1948 0r 1949)
Every nation on earth having been witnessed to by the Gospel.
Knowledge and Travel will vastly increase (Book of Daniel)
Wars and Rumors of wars
The seas will roar and make people faint
Plague, Pestilence, and Famine
The Great falling away? Probably, the middle ages...
There are many more, but not off the top of my head...
It is certainly a period of time in which we can all see is headed to a point in History...Look at how much has taken place in just the last one-hundred years compared to all of history...Industrial revolution, WWI and WWII, Space Age, Computer Age and a world economy...All of written history some six thousand years does not compare to just the last 100.

The land of "Israel" should be split in half. The northern half would be Palestine and the southern half Israel.
In the middle occupying Jerusalem would be the new U.N. HQ with a corridor that divides these lands from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea. Stationed there should be 200,000 man Rapid Reaction Force capable of delivering a serious smack down to ANYONE in the region that acts out of line.
This solution creates peace in the region and gets the U.N. out of New York .

Try Exodus.Every body has tried to get a peace plan for Israel and Palestine for at least 30 years.Your thesis should leave out who should or should not have nuclear weapons as no one but the countries them selves get to decide that unless they have signed the NNPA treaty. Only the parties themselves can maintain peace.

The land of Israel IS the traditional homeland of the Jews. They were expelled from that area of the world after resisting the Romans. It was, from that time forward, desert mostly.
The land eventually passed from hand to hand via war to the Ottoman Turks, and later won by the British.
It was via the actions of the League of nations that the Jews were given back their homeland, the greater portion of the other land given to the Arabs as current day Jordan.
The "Palestinians" (the term is actually incorrect and refers to the greek oriented "Philistines") were ejected from Jordan and flooded into Israel, where they stayed. Via the politics of both Liberalism and stupidity, their position has evolved into Israel actually being "Palestine" and that the Jews has taken their land. This is completely untrue, since the land was mostly vacant desert with a few wandering bedouins before it was given back to the Hebrews. Arabs did not inhabit it.
None of this has been aided by Jimmy Carter and his ridiculous book about Israeli "Apartheid". The very attempt to get Israel to trade land for peace is another form of antisemitism being pressed by the thugs in the UN.

Sounds like you're in a PoliSci class in college. It goes back to the time in the bible when Abraham had two sons. The first son's name was Ishmael. Under traditional birthright laws it is assumed by the Arabs (Ishmael's offspring) that he would have inherited all of the land that his father had (Palestine/Israel). However, Hagar was Ishmaels mother. Hagar was the slave of Sarah. Sarah was Abraham's wife. Abraham and Sarah's first son was Isaac. The Jews and Christians believe that the birthright (inheritance) should have gone to Isaac. They've been fighting ever since.

to procure some thing incorrect there. The state of Israel replaced into created lower than the approval of the United international locations. on the request of (between others) and with the enthusiastic approval of Joseph Stalin, one time dictator of the U.S.. in case you want the files, the muslims (Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Saudis) were on the prompt allies of large Britain and the U. S., even as Israel replaced into supported with techniques from the Soviets. interior many years although different arab international locations were subverted with techniques from the soviets (a.ok.a. "underwent a properly-loved revolution") and shifted aspects, starting to be allies to the U.S.. Israel had to best pal with the west to outlive. For even with reason (IMO attributable to three very good propaganda) the west receives the "blame" for the creation of Israel - even although they supported the muslims. the russians get no blame. bypass ensure. As to the "encroachment of palestinian territory" - sorry yet this is fake. The land replaced into Turkish, till lost in warfare to large Britain. previously that it replaced into Christian (Kingdom of jerusalem), Muslim (conquest from Byzantines) Christian (Roman Empire) and Jewish/ Greek/ Phoenician etc. Even the Mongols owned it at one time. All with techniques from accurate of conquest, i'm afraid i'm also puzzled why this conflict keeps happening. thinking the milions of sq. miles that are interior the possession (also received with techniques from invasion, BTW) of the muslim international locations (who declare help for the Palestinians - yet one way or the different by no skill provide) it ought to were less demanding and cheap to create an entirely new state for the Palestinians, and make it right into a land of milk and honey. as a replace, they save attacking Israel- 8 situations now? more advantageous? i'm dropping count number. makes no experience. one element is obvious- if Israel had to occupy a larger section- they could. I save in ideas they occupied each and each and every of the Sinai peninsula and they gave that away in go back for peace. So i'm not determining to purchase that "encroaching" bit. after all the Palestinians are way more advantageous suited off that the Tibetans. And no human being seems prepared to project China over that difficulty.

If you want the true origin, I will give it to you
Regardless of belief in the bible, both sides will tell you this is true...
Abraham had two sons. One with his wife, and one with his house maid. The one with the house maid was his very firstborn son, his wife gave him permission to create a child with her so they could start their family (they were very old). Well, a few years later Abraham actually impregnated his wife and they had a son together as well.
Thus began the debate. All of the decedants from one of his sons claim to have the birthright to the land of Isreal (which he left to his "firstborn son). The other side claims it as well. These two factions have been warring over this for centuries.
The bible says that the second son, the one he had with his wife is his true firstborn (lineage of the jews) and deserves Isreal, and is Gods chosen people.
The "palestineans" say that the firstborn son from the servant is the true son, and want it for their own. Its a very long and bloodied tale.
Good luck.
The problem with dividing isreal is this, both factions want the area called the temple mount. The jews want it for their temple and God, the palestineans want it for Mohammad and Allah. You give it to one or the other and someone will be mad.
The only people who should get nuclear weapons are democratic nations. Its a law, dictated by many treaties. It helps ensure massive force isnt erroneously used and manipulated by one hateful man, but by a congress or jury of many lawmakers to use.
If you can actually generate peace, you may be the next leader of the EU, UN, or world. Good luck
The sad truth is, one side will not be made happy ever. They both MUST have Jarusalem... no compromise. Their religions are religions of no compromise with something as important as this. God calls claim to his territory, allah calls for the same.
Good luck
Again
