Interesting place to put this question, but no, most mentally insane people don't realise it. It could just be a by-product of the insanity, not being able to remember rants or insane actions, or they had done such things all their lives and it seems normal.

Sometimes I feel like I'm going mad, but I'm not a lunatic (bet that's what they all say!) I think a lunatic must know, unless they are just slightly off in the head, I had loads of them where I used to work.

Possibly. 'Lunatics' is a bit of a broad definition--there are lots of different kinds of crazy people! Some of them may be more aware of the differences than others..

I'm quite aware that some of my thoughts/behaviour are not 'normal' - but then what the hell is normal?! I reckon since we can't actually define normal, we can't really define crazy either. Ok, you can diagnose mental illness, but there are plenty people out there who don't fit into any of those 'categories', but are still pretty bizarre. I reckon thats ok, as long as we're all happy!
